Goldsmiths Confucius Institute are honoured to welcome Professor Martin Albrow for a lunchtime lecture looking at the ancient Silk Road and China's Belt and Road Initiative
Professor Martin Albrow is an eminent globalisation theorist and international sociologist. In his career spanning more than half a century, he has been a pioneer of the globalization theory, former President of the British Sociological Association and founding editor of the prestigious academic journal, International Sociology.
During this lunchtime lecture, Professor Albrow will explore the spirit of the ancient Silk Road and the extent to which it corresponds to China's recent global development strategy, the Belt and Road infrastructure development and investment initiative.
The lecture will also include an opportunity for discussion and Q&A with the audience.
This event is free and open to all.
