Rob Yates, Thanet District councillor, ex-Margate mayor, ex-Labour (now Greens), asylum rights campaigner comes to Goldsmiths!

Our new MA Art & Politics Guest Speaker Series continues on Monday 17 November with a second guest, ex-Margate mayor and activist Rob Yates.

Rob Yates is a Thanet District councillor, ex-Margate mayor, also ex-Labour (now Greens) and an asylum rights campaigner.

From May 2023 to May 2024, Rob served as the Mayor of Margate and organised several protests supporting the rights and dignity of people seeking asylum:
