South London Liberal Synagogue

A member of the Liberal/Progressive Movement for Jewish Worship & Education, consisting of nearly thirty congregations in the UK. The Rabbi is the religious head in Streatham. Liberal Judaism reveres Jewish tradition and seeks to preserve all that is good in Judaism of the past, but lives in the present valuing truth, sincerity and equality of men and women. Services are in Hebrew and English. We welcome all visitors of all religious beliefs.

South London Synagogue

An Orthodox Synagogue, belonging to the United Synagogue organisation, we are "user-friendly", and would welcome Jewish students of any level of obedience.

New Peckham Mosque (Sheik Abdullah Ed-Daghestani)

The Mosque welcomes all. It is a charitable trust run by the congregation for the benefit of all.
The aqeeda (ethos) of our mosque is based in Tassawwuff ("Sufism").


Main congregational Friday prayer: Juma Namaz Summer 1.30pm, Winter 1.00pm
Daily: Zuhr (Midday) from 1pm, Asr (Early Evening) from 6pm and Magreb (Sunset)
Thursday Evening After Magreb Namaz Naqshbandi Zikr. (Meditational rememberance and purification)

Buddhist

A private house where for many years a group of Buddhists - ocassionally Christians - meet to meditate and talk. Zen type of meditation, but people from different traditions attend. Friendly group.

Tuesdays: 7-9.30pm
(We start meditation at 7pm: sitting meditation 7-7.30pm, washing meditation 7.30-7.40pm, sitting meditation 7.40-8pm, sharing tape or occasionally video discussion.)

Greenwich Hindu Mandir (Temple)

Mandir is a place for Hindu prayers and worship, and also for social and cultural activities. Anyone, whether Hindu or not, is most welcome to visit. We also cater for groups of students and interested parties.

Hindu Temple-prayers and worshipping together with various classes in Hindi and Sanskrit

Ramgarhia Sikh Association

Religious organisation for the advancement of the Sikh religion in Woolwich and surrounding areas, to provide a meeting place for members of the community, and to create special efforts to promote goodwill and harmonise the relations between host and immigrant communities.
