Beijing Dance Academy

Goldsmiths Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance is partnered with Beijing Dance Academy (BDA), which is a renowned institution of higher education of dance in China. Established in 1954, BDA offers programs at secondary, undergraduate and graduate levels and has a unique system of dance education including majors such as Chinese classical dance, Chinese ethnic and folk dance, ballet, social dance, choreography, dance studies and more.

Capital Normal University

Capital Normal University campus, a modern, silver building on a blue sky

Capital Normal University was founded in 1954 and is located in Beijing, the political and cultural centre of China. Beijing is a beautiful city with a long and rich history and culture, imbued with modern bearing and charm.

Capital Normal University is well-known for its role in cultural transmission and innovation and offers complete academic disciplines in liberal arts, science, engineering, management, law, education, art, and foreign languages. It has also opened many research fields with unique oriental cultural characteristics, such as the Chinese literature and traditional culture, calligraphy, oriental dance, and national martial arts, providing the best environment for young people from all over the world to learn the Chinese language.

Students studying on our joint honours programme will study at CNU for one year as part of their language learning.

Beijing International Studies University

Beijing International Studies University was founded in 1964 with just 200 students. Since then it has expanded to more than 10,000 students including over 700 overseas students. BISU has nearly 25 academic departments and research centres.

BISU is a renowned institute of higher education offering subjects and courses in foreign languages, tourism management, liberal arts, management, economics, and law.

China Academy of Art

The China Academy of Art is the most influential academy of fine arts offering PhD., master’s and bachelor’s degrees in fine arts, design, architecture, multi-media and film.

The Academy was founded by the renowned educator Mr Cai Yuanpei in 1928 promoting fine arts education in the then war-torn China. 

There are currently 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students in four campuses with a faculty and staff of 800. The Academy is headquartered in the Nanshan campus, which is located right on the beautiful West Lake in Hangzhou.

The academy has fostered many renowned artists who have become major artistic forces in the country, making it one of the most prestigious art institutions in the country.

The Academy encourages diversity in thinking, art exploration and academy research.
