Dr Catherine Humble's main area of research is mid to late twentieth century American literature, with a particular interest in realist aesthetics, psychoanalysis, and representations of otherness. More recently she has been working on contemporary poetry, digital media, and exile. She is Executive Editor of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis, and writes for the TLS and The Telegraph.
