James is a lecturer in Education, course tutor on the Primary PGCE and MA in Education: Culture, Language and Identity programmes and a member of Centre for Identity and Social Justice.
James gained both his MA in Education (Culture, Language and Identity) and PGCE from Goldsmiths in 2004. Prior to joining the department in 2015, James taught across KS1 and KS2 for over ten years in inner London primary schools. He has also taught English in nursery to higher education settings whilst abroad. James held a range of coordinating and leadership roles prior to joining Goldsmiths, including Senior Teacher, Key Stage Coordinator, a member of Senior Leadership Team and Senior Moderator for the London Borough of Lewisham between 2012 and 2014, supporting teacher training and Primary statutory assessment.
Research interests include coaching and mentoring, social class, social identities.
