Purpose
Joint Negotiation and Consultation Committee [JNCC] acts as a forum for consultation and, where appropriate, negotiation, between the College and Trade Union representatives of staff on matters relating to the contractual and customary conditions of service of staff of the College, including the procedures by which these are implemented and any employee relations or consultative mechanisms.
Terms of reference
To make agreed recommendations to Council, the Warden or to appropriate College committees on matters discussed.
Notes
- Matters concerning individual members of staff and, normally, matters covered by another committee where staff are represented, will not be discussed.
- In this context an agreed recommendation is one which has the support of the majority of the members of each side
- The Committee may establish informal, ad hoc and temporary sub-groups to deal with specific issues. Informal discussions – for instance between Trades Union elected officers and the staff of the Human Resources Department – do not fall within this definition
