Spring 2022 graduation

Celebrate your time at Goldsmiths with your friends and tutors.

Primary page content

This ceremony is for those who were due to graduate in winter 2021.

If you are an international student with a tier 4 visa, that is due to expire in March 2022, you can attend our January 2022 ceremonies.

Date

Your graduation ceremony has unfortunately been postponed from winter 2021 to spring 2022. We appreciate that this may cause disappointment to those hoping to graduate this term.

The postponement of your graduation ceremony is not an easy decision for Goldsmiths but reflects the significant impact that Covid-19 has continued to have in delivering large-scale events. The postponement of your graduation ceremony to spring 2022 will help us to deliver a celebration while also putting the health and safety of you, your guests, and staff first.

Your graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place in April 2022.

The exact date and time for your allocated ceremony will be available closer to the time.

Please note, although we are currently planning for your graduation ceremony to take place in April 2022, we will also follow government guidance in relation to Covid-19 at the time which may mean we need to make late changes to these plans. We will communicate any changes to plans as quickly as possible.

Venue

We are currently planning for your graduation ceremony to be hosted in the Great Hall on campus which is our usual home for graduation ceremonies and a historic location for the Goldsmiths community.

Booking

In the coming months you will receive an email inviting you to book your place once the booking portal has been launched.

We will email your alumni email and the personal email address we had in My Goldsmiths when you left Goldsmiths.

If you have changed your email address since leaving Goldsmiths contact us at graduation (@gold.ac.uk). Include you student number and the programme you studied so we can locate you.

Guest tickets

There is a limit to two guest tickets per graduate (children under the age of five are allowed to attend without a ticket so long as they are small enough to remain in a pram or sit on a guest’s lap).

The limit of two guest tickets will help us to deliver the event safely for all graduates, guests and staff.

What happens at a graduation ceremony

At your graduation ceremony, you will have the opportunity to wear academic dress, cross the stage and have your name read aloud, take photographs with our official graduation photography partners, and be able to attend a reception with your guests afterwards.

The reception will take place directly after your ceremony; included in the guest ticket price will be a couple of glasses of bubbly matched with a delicious selection of cakes (including a vegan option).

The ceremony and following reception will last approximately two hours in total.

If you cannot attend

If you cannot attend your scheduled graduation ceremony, you are welcome to book for a future ceremony. Details will be confirmed and shared at a later date.

Please note, there may be changes at future ceremonies (such as venues or agenda).
