Academic robe hire

All graduands are required to wear academic robes to their graduation ceremony. These should be booked in advance.

Robes can be hired via the Ede and Ravenscroft online booking system. The cost of your robe hire is dependent on your level of study. Full details are available on the Robe Hire website. Booking will open in October 2018.

Robe hire costs are set by Ede & Ravenscroft, the official university robe hire company. All students across the country pay the same price.

If you are graduating and have not hired academic robes in advance, you must do so on the day after registering your attendance. On the day hires will be subject to an additional surcharge. Ede & Ravenscroft will be located in RHB 142/143.

Photography

Goldsmiths employs Tempest a professional photography company to take formal photographs of you, your family, friends and supporters in your academic robes. There is no charge for photographs to be taken, however if you wish to purchase the photographs payment should be made directly to Tempest. Download a sample list of their 2018 prices (PDF).

There is no need to pre-book your graduation day photography.

A temporary photo studio will be set up in the refectory of the Richard Hoggart Building. You can be photographed as soon as you've got your academic robes on, either before or after your ceremony.

In addition, the Goldsmiths Communications team will attend your graduation ceremony and reception to capture images for our website, our social media channels, and for publicity material.

Parking

We are unable to arrange or offer parking for graduands or guests due to the limited availability of parking spaces on campus.

The only exception is if you or one of your guests has mobility issues or holds a blue badge. You should contact the Graduation Team using the subject line “Graduation parking request” at the time of booking your ceremony tickets.

Limited parking spaces are available on some streets surrounding the campus however these are seldom available, particularly on graduation days.

The university will not be held responsible for penalty charge notices issued to vehicles incorrectly or improperly parked on or near the campus.

Heavy traffic congestion in the New Cross area is commonplace.

Goldsmiths strongly advises that you and your guests make your way to the university using public transport, wherever possible, on your graduation day to avoid arriving late. Late-comers and their guests will not be permitted entry to the ceremonies.
