Paid roles at Goldsmiths and through Erasmus+ traineeship

Annual Fund Telephone Fundraiser

Description

This student successfully completed a competitive recruitment process to become a Telephone Fundraiser. They were responsible for contacting Goldsmiths Alumni to raise funds for the Annual Fund as part of the Telephone Fund Campaign. This challenging role requires persistence, confidence and a positive attitude, and enables the student to develop vital fundraising and target based work experience.

Criteria

  • Complete required 2-day training
  • Complete 2 weekday evening and 1-weekend day shift for the 3 weeks of the campaign which is a minimum of 36 hours in total 
  • Adhere to the code of conduct which includes data protection

Facilities Assistant

Description

Facilities Assistants work with the Estates & Facilities Dept. to conduct room audits and report issues back to managers, input data and update records on databases, arrange committee meetings, and take minutes. They gain experience in office administration and using specialised software programmes and skills in communication, working to deadlines, budget awareness and managing multiple projects.

Criteria

  • Be available to attend a 1.5 hour briefing and campus walk as soon as you start
  • Work at least 30 hours over the course of one term
  • Have at least 3 successful 121 meeting with a verifier each term/ year

Halls Ambassador

Description

HA’s are trained student staff who assist the accommodation team in creating a community amongst students living in halls. They plan and deliver a range of activities from Wellbeing Walks, Open Days, and social media campaigns and submit written reports to the Resident Life Team. They develop skills in administration, team working, report writing, communication and working under pressure.

Criteria

  • Be available to attend 2 days of training in November
  • Attend additional training sessions as necessary
  • Provide a rota’ed 10 – 15 hours of residence life interaction on a weekly basis during term time during the academic year (autumn, spring & summer Terms)
  • Submit Reports on Events, Kitchen Meetings, Resident Committees & Drop in’s
  • Meet with a Senior RC on a weekly basis to provide feedback and evaluation
  • Participate in debriefing sessions
  • Be an active participant in Welcome Week, Move out and Move in, open days & applicant days (additional activity)

Erasmus+ Traineeship

Description

This student has successfully applied for a competitive EU funded Erasmus+ Traineeship and completed a self-procured overseas work placement of at least 60 days requiring a collaborative work ethic with strong organisational and communication skills. The placement enables development of enhanced cultural competency and linguistic skills through focused self-reflection.

Criteria

  • Researched appropriate overseas employers and secured full-time traineeship (2-month minimum)
  • Submitted a successful application for funding to undertake Erasmus+ Traineeship
  • Liaised with Goldsmiths and Host Employer staff to agree your programme of training at the Host Institution
  • Followed European Commission rules for ensuring you were insured for the duration of your training programme
  • Completed European Commission documents and critically self-reflect on your placement through the Training Agreement and Report Questionnaire
  • If applicable, follow Online Linguistics Support system, including before and after language assessments
  • Act as an ambassador for Goldsmiths in your place of training 
  • Maintained regular communications with all involved parties
  • Successfully carried out your complete mobility of traineeship period, as planned
