Goldsmiths Wired Radio Station Manager

Description

This student was elected as Goldsmiths Wired Radio Station Manager. Wired is the Goldsmiths radio station run completely by students and funded by the Goldsmiths' Students Union. As Station Manager they were responsible for the facilitation and management of at least two radio shows and contributing to content.

Criteria

  • Served a full term in position
  • Ensure the Wired Radio timetable is up to date and monitored
  • Be the main point of contact for any Wired Radio queries
  • Offer committee opportunities to Wired Radio members
  • Organise at least one event for Wired Radio members
  • Ensure a thorough handover to the next Wired Radio managers

The Leopard Student Newspaper Editor

Description

This student was elected as Leopard Student Newspaper Editor. The Leopard Student Newspaper is the independent voice of students at Goldsmiths. The newspaper is supported and funded by the Goldsmiths Students’ Union and its content is written entirely by students under the direction of the student-led editorial team. They were responsible for managing or overseeing the creation of the student newspaper and contributing to content.

Criteria

  • Served a full term in position
  • Ensure all sub-editors are hired at the beginning of the academic year
  • You must have managed or overseen the creation of at least two editions within an academic year
  • You must have contributed content to the newspaper (500 word minimum)
  • You must have kept the website updated weekly throughout the academic year

Smiths Magazine Editor

Description

Smiths is an eclectic student-run arts and culture magazine published three times each academic year. This student was elected as a Smiths Magazine Editor and was responsible for managing or overseeing the creation of the magazine and contributing to content.

Criteria

  • Served a full term in position
  • Ensure all sub-editors are hired at the beginning of the academic year
  • You must have managed or overseen the creation of at least two editions within an academic year
  • You must have contributed content to the magazine (500 word minimum)
  • You must have kept the website updated weekly throughout the academic year

Media Committee Position

Description

This student held an elected Media Committee Position for either Goldsmiths Wired Radio, The Leopard Student Newspaper or Smiths Magazine all of which are student-run. They were responsible for working with other members of the committee to ensure the successful running of the media group and ensuring the continuity of the media position they worked within.

Criteria

  • Full paid membership of the Media Group
  • Served a full term in position
  • Ensured the continuity of the media positions that you work within
  • Completed two broadcast hours within an academic year and / or
  • Completed a minimum of two featured articles in print or online across a minimum 1200 count within an academic year
  • Helped to manage the media group

Student Media Contributor - Print

This student has been a member of Goldsmiths Students’ Union Media Group and contributed content to Smiths or Leopard publications. They have gained skills in communication, creative thinking, organisation, self-management, and meeting deadlines.

Criteria

  • Full paid membership of the Media Group
  • Completed a minimum of two featured articles in print or online across a minimum 1200 word count within an academic year

Student Media Contributor - Broadcasting

This student has been a member of Goldsmiths Students’ Union Media Group and contributed to Wired Student Radio Station through the involvement in production and broadcast of programmes, or the creation of broadcast content. They have gained technical and presentation skills, as well as skills in communication, teamwork, organisation, time management and meeting deadlines.

Criteria

  • Full paid membership of the Media Group
  • Completed ten broadcast hours within an academic year

This student has made a substantial and sustained contribution to the Film Media group through the involvement of production, development and creation of film content. They have gained skills in creative thinking, teamwork, organisation, self-management, time management and communication.
