This experience has allowed for great developments in my employability skills, and has given me ideas about my pathway after life at Goldsmiths. I am incredibly happy at the opportunity I have been given, and would recommend this type of placement to all history enthusiasts. The main perk of this experience in my opinion, has been simply working with a huge range of historical artefacts. It brilliantly contrasts with my academic experience over the years. Working with these objects is interesting and will benefit any history student and broaden their mind to the study of the discipline.

I was able to link my placement work with University work. This has greatly enhanced my overview of the period, and contributed to my essays.

The cataloguing opened my eyes to the huge background work that is necessary for a successful department making visual evidence easily accessible to the public.

This week I created my exhibition, which is now in place in the exhibition space at Lewisham local history and archives centre.
