Country specific Tier 4 information

Applying for a visa

You can visit the Gov.UK webpages, or the VFS webpages, to find out about how to apply for your visa in China.
There's a number of services available, including a 3-5 day priority application service and a translation service. Find out more on the VFS User Pay webpages.

South America

You may need to register with the Police if you are a national of any of the following countries and you are coming to the UK for more than 6 months:

  • Argentina
  • Bolivia
  • Brazil
  • Colombia
  • Peru

Applicants from the following countries benefit from different requirements when applying for a Tier 4 visa:

  • Argentina

This means that if you have an Argentinian Passport, and will be applying for your visa in Argentina, you won't need to submit financial documents when you apply for your Tier 4 visa. However, the Embassy can ask for them at any point, so you should still make sure you have them available.

You will need to ensure that you have had a TB Test if you are coming to the UK for more than 6 months and are a resident of one of the following countries:

Strict Currency controls are in place in Venezuela, which mean that it is illegal to change Bolivares to Dollars (or any other currency) because of the currency controls in the country imposed by Hugo Chavez.
