The ground floor of the Library will be closed for June and July while we improve the social learning spaces.

We'll be open 24 hours every day with services still available.

Read our blog post for full details of what we are doing. When work is completed, we will have a wonderful new collaborative and flexible space on the ground floor that is full of life.

Changes to services: 1 June – 31 July 2019

Ground floor closed.

Entrance

The main entrance will be closed.

The entrance to the Library will be the IT entrance (near the Amazon Lockers). This will be open 24/7 throughout.

Library Helpdesk

The Library Helpdesk Service will be delivered from the IT helpdesk.

Library Self Service machines for book borrowing and returns

These will be available on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Library.

Reservations

Reservations can be collected from the IT help desk area.

Assistive Technology Provision

The Assistive Technology Centre will be closed from 1 June – 31 July 2019.

There will be computers available with Assistive Technology on the 1st and 2nd floors of the library. For more details, see the Assistive Technology webpage.

Security

There will be a 24/7 security presence at the IT entrance.

Café

The Library Café will be closed. Your nearest café will be at the Goldsmiths Students' Union or Café Thirty Five in the RHB.

Water is available from the drinking fountains on the 1st and 2nd floors.

Special Collections and Archives

Special Collections and Archives will be by appointment only. Please call 020 7717 2295 or email special.collections (@gold.ac.uk) to make an appointment.

Laptop Lockers

The Laptop Locker service will not be available in the Library but laptops are available to borrow from the Professor Stuart Hall Building (PSH):

Monday - Friday: 0700 – 2200, Saturday: 0730 – 2200, Sunday: 0830 – 1800 during usual opening days.

Academic Skills Centre

One-to-one sessions and workshops will be running during the refurbishment works. For further information see the Academic Skills Centre's pages or email academicskills@gold.ac.uk.
