Andrew Kingham has been a media professional for almost 3 decades, working across the areas of Illustration, Animation, Interactive Media, Graphic Design, and Photography. He convenes UG Practice in the following areas: Animation, Illustration and Interactive Media, BA Media and Communications.
He has received many awards internationally for his work, and is a full member of D&AD (Designers & Art Directors), having received a Yellow Pencil for his highly regarded illustration work. This utilised found metal as a medium and led to appearances on children’s TV and several solo shows here in London and Germany. He has been a judge for the Images illustration awards on several occasions and his work has featured in numerous creative annual awards.
Current professional practice is primarily involved in advising and designing print publications and websites, for award winning organisations working in the cultural and third sector. This involves placing the user's experience at the centre of design, while finding creative ways to fold paper.
He holds an MA in Sequential Design. His final project combined the craft of bookbinding with interactive digital story telling. His work from his MA was purchased by Tate Modern and the V&A museum for their special collections. He'd like to find time to draw more, as he doesn't think he's very good yet.
