Emma Winston

Emma is an ethnomusicologist and popular musicologist with particular interests in non-professional musical activity, and the role of the internet and social media in subculture, genre and style.
She is currently completing a PhD on the 21st-century resurgence of the ukulele, and its impact on musical identity and the social worlds of players. She is also a songwriter, producer and artist, currently working primarily in the medium of live-coding.
