Joanna Quinn is a part-time PhD student writing a novel based in her home county of Dorset. The novel focuses on a trio of elderly women, tracing their lives through the 20th Century.
Her critical project is provisionally entitled Fictional Landscapes and the English Imagination.
Inspired by the novel, it will look at English landscapes in fiction, focusing particularly on how writers represent Dorset. Joanna is a published short story writer and has previously completed an MPhil in Creative Writing at the University of Glamorgan. In 2011, she was one of four writers shortlisted for the Arts Foundation Fellowship for Short Stories.
