Goldsmiths' Accessing HE webinars are a series of online talks offering information, advice, and guidance for students currently researching their next steps.

Starting with looking at Post-18 pathways and understanding Student Life, through to detailed sessions on writing your personal statement and the not-so complex Student Finance system. All sessions are free to attend.

Key information

  • All sessions start at 5pm (GMT) and are free to attend
  • Unless stated, each webinar will last 45 minutes – 1 hour
  • Webinars will be run via Zoom. A link will appear on the booking confirmation page 30 minutes before the event starts
  • Webinars are open to all but are aimed at UK students currently studying at Level 3 (A-level, BTEC or Access course)
  • All students attending the session will be subject to our online Code of Conduct
  • Please note, some webinars are for mature students only

Post-18 pathways

With such a range of future opportunities, it can be difficult to decide what is best for you. In this webinar, we will take you through the most common routes after compulsory education, from university and apprenticeships to gap years and working. You will also hear from Goldsmiths students about their decision-making journey to higher education. This webinar would also be useful for students in Year 11.

Choosing a university and course

Picking the university and course that is right for you is a challenging task. Join this webinar to hear about the range of reasons and resources available to help make your decision. You will also hear from Goldsmiths students about how they researched and shortlisted their course and place of study.

How to fund university (Student Finance and budgeting)

Within this webinar we will break down the Student Finance England system, exploring the true cost of attending university. You will gain some simple budgeting techniques, and hear from our students on how they deal with money at university.

Succeeding in your current studies (wellbeing and study skills)

Studying at any level can be challenging. Having effective and practical wellbeing and study technique can enhance your work, productivity and health while studying. Join us to learn about some easy to implement wellbeing and studying techniques, which can be used for your current and future studies.

Applying to university - UCAS process

You've decided to apply to university but are unsure about the application process. Join us in this webinar for a step-by-step walkthrough of the UCAS (University and College Admissions Service) process, including personal statements. You will also get to hear from current Goldsmiths students about their experience of the UCAS application process.
