Course overview

This course in Kungfu teaches you the ancient martial arts of China.

Increase your strength, flexibility and coordination with our Kung Fu Martial Arts Class. Learn traditional Chinese martial arts movements and techniques which can help towards health and fitness whilst being a fast and controlled sport. Learning a wide range of conditioning exercises such as stances, stretching, striking and meditation which will prepare you and work this into a defence routine. This course starts from beginner level whilst developing the level throughout the weeks.

Lv Dawei will introduce students to the internal art of Xingyi (5 element boxing) and instruct on the health benefits of martial arts. Lv will also teach simple exercises that you can use to help create strength and flexibility.

Kung Fu Teaching Assistant, Fu Zeng

About your teacher, Fu Zeng

Fu Zeng is a Kung Fu master and martial arts athlete, he passes on his skill and wisdom in this ancient martial art to students with enthusiasm and passion. 

Fu won first prize at the 2013 China Sports Lottery Cup (Shandong) Martial Arts Championships and achieved third place at the 2012 National Youth Wushu Routine Championships and the 2014 Shandong Chinese Wrestling Championships.     

Fu is our resident Kung Fu Teacher at Goldsmiths Confucius Institute.

Goldsmiths Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance is an academic department of Goldsmiths, University of London.

We specialise in Chinese language and culture as well being the first and currently, the only CI to specialise in dance, performance and the arts, and the proud winner of the Global Confucius Institute of the Year Award 2017.
