Saturday Mandarin and Culture Courses

Course description

Goldsmiths Confucius Institute will be offering a series of Saturday classes to cater to children of all ages in order to offer a taste of Chinese culture.

Weekend courses include YCT Mandarin classes as well as martial arts and Chinese dance classes for children.

All courses run for 5 weeks. 

YCT Beginners Mandarin Class - £50

Saturday Mandarin 10:00 - 10:45

The content of the course is according to the new primary and middle school students' Chinese test (YCT) teaching material. This course will offer students study of Chinese systematically. It can also help students to study towards YCT and HSK certificates.

The beginners class is aimed at students aged 5 - 10 years. 

Saturday Dance 10:45 - 11:30

The content of the course is according to course content created by Beijing Dance Academy. Students will get a basic introduction to Chinese classical dance.

The beginners class is aimed at students aged 5 years and above. 

Saturday Kungfu 10:45 - 11:30

This course will give children a basic introduction to Chinese martial arts and in particular, kung fu movements.

The beginners class is aimed at students aged 5 years and above.

YCT Beginners Mandarin Class - £50

Goldsmiths offers a 15% concession rate on short courses to Lewisham Local cardholders, Students and Goldsmiths Alumni. Please email shortcourses@gold.ac.uk for further information.

About the department

Goldsmiths Confucius Institute for Dance and Performance is an academic department of Goldsmiths, University of London.

We specialise in Chinese language and culture as well being the first and currently, the only CI to specialise in dance, performance and the arts, and the proud winner of the Global Confucius Institute of the Year Award 2017.
