Maya is a full-time lecturer in the MA Counselling programme. She is a Counselling Psychologist, having practiced psychodynamic psychotherapy for 20 years, with a focus on the Relational approach and work with Complex Trauma. As a practitioner and academic, Maya is interested in the integration of critical cultural and gender studies with clinical theory and practice.
Maya has a special interest in human rights and social justice work and advocacy by mental health practitioners. She has extensive experience in this field, as a leader and active participant in projects related to political trauma.
