I joined Goldsmiths in 2011 from the Cambridge Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Group.  Prior to this, I worked in statutory and voluntary sector services as a social worker and care manager with adults with disabilities.  I also previously worked as a practice teacher for the University of Hertfordshire, Goldsmiths, and Anglia Ruskin University, having completed the Practice Teaching Award course at Goldsmiths. I originally trained in learning disability nursing as well as in social work and my current research interests are mainly in the field of learning disability.  I am currently working on a PhD which is a qualitative study of friendship in the lives of adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities.  I am on the Editorial Board of PMLD Link, a publication aimed at professionals, parents and care workers who are concerned with the well-being of adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

I teach across the BA in Social Work and the MA in Social Work.
