Covid-19 vaccinations and boosters

Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and our community from serious infection. It’s important that you get your first and second dose and booster jab for maximum protection.

Why you should get vaccinated

Covid-19 vaccines have saved an estimated 100,000 lives, 23.4 million infections and 66,900 hospitalisations have been prevented. Vaccinated people are far less likely to get Covid with symptoms. Vaccinated people are even more unlikely to get serious Covid-19, to be admitted to hospital, or to die from it and vaccinated people are less likely to pass the virus to others.

How to get vaccinated

If you haven’t had your first dose yet, or need your second, you can book now at a vaccine centre or find your nearest walk-in clinic at nhs.uk/covidvaccine.

Booster jabs are also being opened up to all adults who want one, as a key measure to stop the spread of the Omicron variant.

You don’t need to have both doses or booster in the same place. You can arrange your second dose through the booking service at nhs.uk/covidvaccine or by going to a local walk-in clinic 8 weeks after your first dose.

You can get a booster 3 months after your second vaccination.

If you aren’t registered with a GP anywhere, it’s definitely a good idea to do this as soon as possible and as a Goldsmiths student you can register at Amersham Vale GP which is just a three-minute walk from campus.

Goldsmiths student vaccinations available at Amersham Vale

Working with our partners at Amersham Vale GP practice we have arranged for Goldsmiths students and staff to have their vaccinations and boosters at the GP practice close to campus. The practice is based in the Waldron Health Centre, Amersham Vale, London, SE14 6LD.

They are offering walk-in clinics (no appointment necessary). See nhs.uk for the opening times.

The clinics offer first and second vaccinations to those who have never been vaccinated or those who have received a vaccine that is not recognised in the UK (anything other than Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca).

The clinic is also offering boosters for those who are over 18 and had their second vaccination over three months ago.
