“Hi my name is Danielle, I’m a renowned local community champion and Deptford resident over two decades raising aspirations in the community and encouraging community members to progress in their journey in life.
Now attending Goldsmiths University BA Curating Undergraduate programme I undertaken key roles to build community cohesion: DSC - Visual Cultures Department Student Coordinator and SCL – Student Community Leader organising events for mature students. I am an active member on the process of anti-racism and decolonization of the curriculum and a member of the anti-racism group for Visual Cultures. Multilingual engagement expert and wellbeing practitioner, celebrates creativity and diversity as well as encouraging women's participation in the art world.”
“Hello, my name is Sharon. I am a mature student who has been working and bringing up children until recently where my youngest has just started university. That means the house is a hub of intellectual conversations. Not really, more rushing to libraries and preparing assignments. I have a few hobbies which include line dancing, swimming and cinema.
I have a large dog, a Belgian Malinois that I love to play football with, a tortoise that loves to explore and both those pets really make me smile. At the moment I quite like a bit of country music and old soul music but my music tastes change. What I really enjoy is a good thriller series like You on Netflix and I love, love, love spicy food. I became an SCL because I wanted to help other students find themselves and community in an unfamiliar environment to them so they can not only learn but make friends and have fun while they are at Goldsmiths.”
