“Hello, my name is Charneh! I am a Student Carer currently studying an MA in Applied Anthropology & Community Arts. I chose this programme because I have always been interested in studying social science. This was a perfect fit to do something I’ve always wanted to do and further develop my practice in drama and rehabilitation.
I wanted to become an SCL because I was excited by the opportunity to collaborate with students to create and develop peer support networks across Goldsmiths. I want to foster a more sustainable experience for those with caring responsibilities. As I am a part-time student, this is also an excellent opportunity for me to meet new people. Please do not hesitate to contact me; I’m always up for a chat.
My professional background is in the performing arts. My arts practice is performance-making and facilitation. It comes as no surprise that I enjoy going to the theatre, gallery exhibitions and creative workshops in my spare time. I also love going to music festivals! To chill out, I listen to podcasts or audiobooks (I love audiobooks as a dyslexic). I am always up for an adventure out in nature; camping, hiking or going to the beach. I enjoy cooking for my friends when we are not hanging out in the pub!”
