Teaching in Japan with the JET programme
The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme is an official Japanese Government scheme aiming to improve foreign language teaching in schools and to promote international understanding.
The majority of participants work as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs), assisting with English teaching in schools across Japan. As an ALT your role will be to assist Japanese Teachers of English rather than to lead classes on your own. Opportunities are paid.

International Citizen Service (ICS)
ICS provides overseas volunteer placements for 18-25-year olds and Team Leader placements for 23-35-year olds. ICS works with local communities to support people to access education and health services, protect their environment, earn a decent living and live in a fairer world.
All projects are carefully planned to be sustainable and focused on long term impact. Placements are always part of a wider development programme, where objectives are set in partnership with communities.
