New students: Fees, loans, bursaries and scholarships

Help with how to pay your fees and receiving student financial support.

Primary page content

Paying fees

You need to arrange to pay your fees if you are not in receipt of government funding (i.e. Student Loans, Student Finance or Federal Loans) or private sponsorship.

See our section on student tuition fees for full information.

How and when to pay fees

Tuition fees must be paid, or proof of sponsorship shown, before you complete personal enrolment on campus.

It is preferable to pay them in advance.

See our page on how to make payments to Goldsmiths for instructions.

Maintenance loans, bursaries and scholarships

See our section on student finance for full information

Not yet received confirmation of student finance, loans or sponsorship?

It's common for there to be delays to the processing of Student Finance or Student Loans at the beginning of a new academic year. If you have applied for student finance, loans or sponsorship but have not yet received confirmation of any award, please bring evidence of your application to personal enrolment so we can make a note on our records – you will not be required to pay the tuition fee yourself at enrolment.

If you have received confirmation of your loans, any money that you are due will be paid directly into your bank account once you have fully completed enrolment.

If you have a question about your student finance or loans please visit the Student Centre or contact fees (

When are payments made

For Maintenance loans, bursaries and scholarships, any monies you may be due will be paid into your bank account once you have completed personal enrolment and in line with any payment schedules.

Student Finance pays out maintenance loans 3-5 days after we have confirmed your enrolment.
