Event overview
What is India's Soft Power? A study in the power of culture in communication in the world's largest democracy and third largest economy
Professor Daya Thussu (University of Westminister but formerly in the Dept of Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London) will discuss his recent book. As the world's largest democracy with a vibrant and pluralist media system, India offers an excellent case study of the power of culture and communication in an age of mediated international relations. This discussion of India's rising soft power is located within a historical context, thus problematizing the notion of Soft Power itself.
