Event overview
In Favour of the UK from China explores the outsourcing of democracy from the UK to China
Chris and Charlie have hired HIT* workers in China, to read through an extensive document covering the proposed policies of the candidates in our respective constituencies. Their responses to these policies will determine who we vote for in the upcoming general election.
The exhibition is a product of our ongoing research into the consequences for democracy, with regards to Baudrillard’s concept of viral economics, a global sphere “relieved of ideologies, social sciences, history and political economy ... yielded up to pure speculation”.
(The Viral Economy, Screened out, 2002, p31)
*Human Intelligence Tasks are typically low-skilled tasks, that are (currently) beyond the reach of automation.
