Screening of three films by acclaimed UK independent filmmaker and artist BEN RIVERS

House (2007, 5 mins.)
Origin of the Species (2008, 16 mins.)
This Is My Land (2006, 14 mins.)

“films notable for their exquisitely close attention to atmosphere, landscape and the interaction between man-made and organic, between the ‘made’ and the ‘found’…”

Rivers prefers to work in 16mm film, often in monochrome and processing the film himself in a sink. His films are concerned with marginal places and people and have an observational and ethnographic quality that suggests much of interest for anthropologists.
