Described as a ‘social sculptor’ by curator Hans Ulrich Obrist, Peter Saville's interventions in mass culture have had a unique influence on our visual environment. Saville co-founded the legendary Factory Records in the late 1970s, where he introduced a progressive visual language through an inspirational series of works that included the iconic album covers for Joy Division and New Order. Going on to work extensively in fashion and the cultural sector, he is credited with significantly affecting the interplay between art and design.
