PureGold Evening Recital

As part of the Department of Music's PureGold festival, PhD student Viktoria Zora and Marta Borikic perform Russian works for violin and piano.

Programme:
Sergei Prokofiev: Five Melodies for Violin and Piano Opus 35bis
Alexander Sedlar: Sonet za Klavir i Violinu
Sergei Rachmaninoff: Vocalise Opus 34, No 14
P.I. Tchaikovsky: Melodie Opus 42, No 3

Viktoria Zora studied music at the University of Athens and holds a Master of Arts and a LRAM Diploma in Violin Teaching from the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied violin under Lydia Mordkovitch. At Goldsmiths Viktoria is researching on a doctorate level Prokofiev’s music for violin and piano, which combines her interests in academia and performance. A past member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and a freelance orchestral player (Greek National Opera), Viktoria is also a keen chamber musician and plays in the piano duo with Marta Boriki? and in the Zacharias Quartet.

Marta Boriki? is a young Serbian pianist and graduate of the Academy of Music Arts in Belgrade. She holds a MA degree from the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Colin Stone and Diana Ketler. Marta is a second prize winner of the Nikolai Rubinstein competition in Paris and she performs as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist in concert venues in the UK, Serbia and abroad.
