Networking platform Goldsmiths Connect set for launch

Primary page content

Do you want to network with Goldsmiths alumni? Ask former students for careers advice? Find a mentor? From February we have a new online platform that will allow alumni, students and staff to do just that, and we are calling it: Goldsmiths Connect.

The Goldsmiths alumni community is a vibrant and extensive network consisting of over 50,000 former students based all over the world. Whether it’s a new job, collaboration, product or book – Goldsmiths alumni are constantly making their mark on the world and are an inspiration to staff and students.

From February we have a new way of keeping in touch with alumni and we are calling it: Goldsmiths Connect.

Goldsmiths Connect is an online platform that will allow its members to network, share expertise, post jobs and if they choose, begin longer-term mentoring relationships based on a range of matching criteria.

It is open to our global community of alumni, as well as staff and current students. The platform launches at the start of February.

Mary Davies, Head of Alumni Relations, says: “Goldsmiths Connect will make our international community of alumni accessible to each other, to students and to staff. You’ll be able to reach out to alumni at all stages of their career and working in a wide range of industries. No matter where you are based, you will all have Goldsmiths in common.”

The launch event

Join us at 6pm on Tuesday 2 February to celebrate the launch of this new platform. Hosted by Professor Elisabeth Hill, Pro-Warden (Learning, Teaching and Enhancement), the evening includes an alumni panel, advice about approaching mentors and, appropriately, an opportunity to network with alumni, staff and fellow students.

Ross Morrison McGill (BA Education with Design and Technology, 1997) Deputy Headteacher at Quintin Kynaston and ‘The most followed teacher on Twitter in the UK’

The organisers

The Development and Alumni Office maintain a connection with 50,000 former Goldsmiths students and staff through Goldlink, our award-winning magazine, and various digital channels.

As much as possible, we stay in touch in person via Goldsmiths Reunite, an events programme that spans across the world (with help from our Alumni Ambassadors).
