The magical town of Winterville is making its highly anticipated return to Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets, and will open its gates on Thursday 26 November. The yuletide pop-up offers everything from street food, club nights, market stalls and live entertainment, not to mention a whole host of attractions. To round it all off, entrance is free!

Meet: female punk legend, Vic Alberine from The Slits

Purchase: some bargain books

The Blackheath and Greenwich Group of Amnesty International, is holding its annual clearance book sale on Saturday 21 November. There tends to be queues waiting for doors to open in the morning for your chance to rummage and peruse your way through a variety of books for low prices.

Design: the trophy for a Goldsmiths Award

Next year, the University and Student Union will launch it’s first ever Student Led Teaching Awards, and they’re looking for students to get involved. Visit the Students Union website for the information you need to be in with a chance of winning £400.

Combine: your interests in Art and code

Kyle McDonald is an artist who works with code as a medium. If interactive installations sound like something you want to know more about, go along to his talk next Wednesday, or visit Kyle’s website to take a look at his work.

Get: festive at the final karaoke

Monday evening sees the final instalment of Open Mic at The Stretch this term, so expect some festively themed fun. If you’re looking for mulled wine, ‘a semi-real log fire and a visit from a very real Santa Claus’, then this is the event to get you into the Christmas spirit
