Cost of Attendance

The maximum amount of money that a student will require to attend school is known as the Cost of Attendance (COA).

Primary page content

This is set annually by Goldsmiths. Federal law allows the value to include:

  • Tuition fees
  • An allowance for books, supplies and transport (including airfares)
  • An allowance to cover room and board (rent or hall charges)
  • An allowance for dependent care if necessary
  • An allowance to assist with any disability
  • Coverage of any charges or premiums associated with a Federal loan

Please note this is the maximum you can borrow and most students do not need to borrow the full amount. For guidance on living costs please see your programme page.

There are different COAs for research students in Completion or Continuation Status and lower cost programmes. These are available from the Financial Aid Office upon request. We advise you to compare this to your own expected outgoings before deciding how much you wish to borrow. For example, if you are able to find cheaper flights or accommodation, you can reduce the amount you borrow accordingly.

* from 2015 students are required to pay an Immigration Health Charge prior to being issued a visa. For further information please visit our Visas and immigration Team.

** Cost of a London Travelcard with a Student Oyster Card.

*** one-off costs can only be included in year 1, therefore continuing students will have a lower COA.

The tuition fee for your course can be found on your programme webpage.
