Tribute to Zhe Wang

The Department of Educational Studies are devastated by the tragic death of their wonderful student Zhe Wang, who was so creative, so full of life, and so erudite. We would like to share our condolences to her family for their heart-breaking loss.

Zhe had produced some wonderful work on the MA Creative Writing and Education, which she was studying. She had great plans for her future, aiming to publish her work. We are taking steps to publish some of this, and memories of her, in a forthcoming anthology.

We miss Zhe deeply, and she will be so warmly remembered by her fellow students and colleagues here at Goldsmiths.

Her family have written a letter to share with our community.

喆是一位善良温柔求知上进的女孩，对语言极具天赋，精通五国语言，我们家人深爱并思念着喆！生前她从事了雅思教学工作，成绩斐然，国内众多学员对她的意外离开震惊且痛心！怀揣梦想来到伦敦大学，在这里有欣赏她的老师和关怀她的同学好友，相信她度过了一段美好的时光，她一定是发自心底的热爱着您们！
喆的意外身亡，牵动了无数人的心，对于整个家庭是一场悲剧！令人感动的是学校第一时间给予家属关怀和对此次来英提供了诸多的帮助，有爱，人文的学府，请同学们坚定选择！最后，期望学校能给予留学生更多的关注和保护，感谢每一位来参加纪念活动的老师同学，喆会被爱包围和感知，祝福金匠，各位安好！

Translation:

Zhe was a kind and gentle girl who sought knowledge and advancement, and was extremely gifted in languages, proficient in five languages. Our family loves and misses Zhe dearly! Before her death, she was engaged in teaching IELTS, with outstanding results, and many students in China were shocked and saddened by her unexpected departure! She came to the University of London with a dream, where she had teachers who appreciated her and classmates who cared for her. I believe she had a wonderful time and she must have loved you all from the bottom of her heart!

Zhe's unexpected death has touched the hearts of countless people and is a tragedy for the whole family! What is touching is that the school gave the family care in the immediate instance and provided a lot of help for this time to come to the UK, a loving, humanistic school. Students, you can make a firm decision! Finally, I hope that the school can give more attention and protection to international students. Thank you to every teacher and student to participate in the commemorative activities, Zhe will be surrounded by love and thought. Blessings to Goldsmiths, and may all of you be well!
