Event overview
SOLD OUT! Media Forum - Guardian columnist and author Owen Jones joins us to debate ‘Where does Labour go now?’
SOLD OUT!
Jeremy Corbyn's enlarged mandate following the second Labour leadership election in just over a year came as little surprise. Yet divisions within the Parliamentary party persist, with some predicting the party cannot survive in its current form. What's more, there is evidence to suggest the odds were stacked against him, thanks to unfavourable media coverage.
Owen gives us his take on Labour's future, as a new YouGov poll suggests a 'worrying disconnect' between support for Labour under Corbyn's leadership and the party itself. Professor Des Freedman of Goldsmiths presents the latest Media Reform Coalition findings.
Chaired by Linda Lewis, Senior Lecturer and convenor MA Television Journalism will be in conversation with Owen Jones.
