We are pleased to announce the ninth Urban Encounters conference in Partnership with Tate Modern.

The evening before the main conference starts on Friday 4th of November, international urban photographer Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen will deliver our annual artist’s keynote at Tate Modern.

This year’s theme is Photography, Memory and Archive. We have a wide range of international photographers, artists and urbanists discussing their practices and approaches to making images and researching urban spaces. Those attending the conference are also invited to the opening of two Urban Photo Village exhibitions on Friday and Saturday nights.

Confirmed speakers and panel chairs are:

James Barnor and Rachel Pepper, Rachel Lichtenstein, Daniel Cid, Peter Bennett, Jean McNeil, Joy Gerrard, Andy Day, Diego Ferrari, Stephen Mayes, Vic Seidler, Paul Halliday, Alice Maude-Roxby and Stefanie Seibold, Gill Golding, Esther Windsor, Nick Ferguson, Tiong Ang, Judy Price, Hrair Sarkissian, Marianne, Mulvey, Ingrid Pollard, Alan Maglio, Paul Goodwin.
