About to step on stage, a stand-up comedian in the grip of chronic stage-fright finds herself growing dangerously uncoupled from her own re?ection.
Comprising a pair of complementary films projected simultaneously onto a double-sided screen which bisects the space, the installation invites viewers to engage with the mechanics of the moving-image in a playful manner, a digital descendent recalling the medium’s origins as a sideshow attraction.
Made with research funding from UCA and supported by ARRI and 4K London.
LOCATION INFORMATION:
Nearest stations New Cross & New Cross Gate (Overground from Clapham and Shoreditch; Rail from London Bridge). Direct buses from Vauxhall, Elephant, Camberwell, Peckham, Lewisham.
Note there is no public parking.
James Hatcham space is best accessed from St James off New Cross Road, just to the right of the main entrance leading into the university.
