The elephant in the room - Hearing: Beyond an Auraltypical Paradigm in Sound Studies, Soundscapes and Sound Art

Goldsmiths welcomes Professor John Drever to give his Inaugural lecture, the first of 2017.

Professor of Acoustic Ecology and Sound Art, John Levack Drever, will discuss how through fieldwork in contexts as diverse as Goodwin Sands, dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong, cattle grids on Dartmoor, high speed hand dryers in public toilets and Zen gardens in Kyoto, he has been compelled to reconsider his opinions and practice.
As well as being a Professor in the Music Department at Goldsmiths, Drever is Deputy Dean of the Graduate School.

The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception.

Please register your attendance by following the Eventbrite link.
