Soprano Juliet Fraser and flutist Richard Craig perform new works in this evening's concert.

Leading contemporary musicians Juliet Fraser & Richard Craig perform works for soprano, flute & electronics by Patricia Alessandrini, Gérard Pape and John Croft alongside new electroacoustic works by Goldsmiths' students.

Soprano Juliet Fraser has a repertoire dominated by the very old and the very new. In new music, she has performed as a guest soloist with Plus-Minus, ICTUS, We Spoke: New Music Company, London Sinfonietta, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Klangforum Wien and Ensemble intercontemporain. She is also co-founder and principal soprano of EXAUDI, the acclaimed vocal ensemble, with whom she regularly performs at festivals such as Aldeburgh, Spitalfields, hcmf//, Festival d'Automne, ManiFeste, Ars Musica, Wittener Tage and Darmstadt Ferienkurse. She has premiered well over 100 works, many of which have been written for her, and has worked particularly closely with composers Michael Finnissy, Christopher Fox, Bernhard Lang, James Weeks, Matthew Shlomowitz and Andrew Hamilton.

Richard Craig (flute) has performed with groups such as ELISION, Musikfabrik, Klangforum Wien and Das Experimentalstudio ensemble, which has taken him to international festivals such as Maerzmusik Berlin, Wittener Tage für Neue Musik, the Venice Biennale, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Festival D’Automne in Paris and the Lincoln Center Festival New York. Equally active as a soloist, Richard has given recitals throughout the world performing new work and presenting his collaborations. At the centre of Richard’s work in contemporary music is the development of new repertoire for the flute, and he is involved in commissions with both with established composers and the younger generation. As an chamber musician, Richard has performed with Distractfold Ensemble, the winners of the 2014 Kranisteiner prize, and is a member of the Spanish ensemble SMASH.
