Event overview
An exhibition of final year artworks produced by students on Goldsmiths' MA/MFA in Computational Arts.
A variety of disciplines and contexts - united through the use of computational techniques - converge at OVERLAP, the degree show for the MA/MFA Computational Arts at Goldsmiths, University of London.
The works on show illustrate the versatility of computational applications when introduced to fine art. They demonstrate interactive, generative and procedural techniques, ranging from critiquing the autonomy of the system to the role of the artist.
Code and electronics are creative tools that sit alongside paint, pencils, cameras and musical instruments; tools that can be both critiqued and embraced. Technology enhances existing skills - and enables the exploration of new creative pathways.
