To celebrate our new BA in Comedy and Satire, Anna Furse, Department of Theatre and Performance, Goldsmiths, University of London, has programmed a special Comedy and Satire Performance Research Forum Series.

Ray Campbell is a comedian, cabaret performer/promoter and lecturer. He recently completed his PhD in Cultural Studies at the University of East London. The title of his thesis is Comic Cultures: aesthetics and politics of Alternative Comedy in the UK, 1979 to 1992, which investigates the structural similarities between the post-punk music movement and alternative comedy/cabaret. Ray continues to perform comedy under the name of Buddy Hell.
