Join us for the Sino-UK Corner language exchange Halloween Special - share interesting ghost stories from China and the UK, carve pumpkins, and enjoy some delicious treats!
As part of the weekly Sino-UK Corner language exchange, Confucius Institute will hold a Halloween Special open to all. Come and practice your Chinese or English, or learn something new about Chinese culture, all around the theme of 'Halloween'.
Bring your best ghost story or personal paranormal experience, as during the Halloween Special we will be sharing stories of the strange and unknown, from chilling tales of ghostly encounters, to stories of demons and zombies from the Chinese underworld.
Don't forget to prepare a unique and inspiring design, as we will also be holding a small pumpkin carving competition in the spirit of British Halloween! From your favourite superhero, to complicated Chinese characters, the only limit is your skill with the carving tools.
Of course, no Halloween event would be complete without lots of sweet treats, so come and share some that we have prepared, or bring some of your favourites to share with everyone else.
This event is open to all, from Goldsmiths students and staff, to member of the local community of all ages. If you are planning on telling any stories or sharing experiences, or coming dressed in a costume, please be mindful that this event is open to all ages.
See you there!
