Presenting works by four of their collaborating composers.

The Internationally acclaimed Kreutzer Quartet, who are ‘in residence’ at Goldsmiths, give an evening concert after a day working with student composers. This concert presents works by four of their collaborating composers. Michael Finnissy has a ‘conversation’ with Bach. George Holloway imagines the flight of birds in spatial canons. Peter Dickinson constructs drama of enormous punch from the most restricted of means. Edward Cowie, reflects on the relationship with humans and nature, between industry and landscape that is Dungeness. Finally Finnissy re-imagines the Minuet and Trio, and extends the quartet with household objects.

Programme:

Bach/Finnissy - Contrapunctus XIX from the Musical Offering
George Holloway-‘Birds in Flight’
Peter Dickinson-Quartet 1
Edward Cowie-Quartet 1 (Dungeness Nocturnes)
Michael Finnissy-Six Sexy Minuets Three Trios

The Kreutzer Quartet are Peter Sheppard Skærved, Mihailo Trandafilovski, Clifton Harrison & Neil Heyde.
