Transatlantic Feminist Art Exchange Study Day. Part I: Traces of WOCI: From Women's Art Library to CalArts

Feminist Art Program - Collectively Curate a WAL display

10:30-4.00
Join us for a day of collective research and study, using surroogate Feminist Art Program materials. The study day aim is to collectively explore and then collectively create and select materials for a small display at WAL. The workshop will be led by Ego Ahaiwe Sowinski who also share experiences of researching at CalArts for traces of Women of Colour Index.

Artist Aida Wilde will also be facilitating a collage poster session.

5:30-7:00
“Feminist Reconfigurations of the Archive” by CalArts Institute Archivist and Performing Arts Librarian, Kathy Carbone.

Carbone will talk about the work of feminist poet Kaia Sand and how she disrupted and transformed—'decolonized'—police surveillance records on women activists to create poetry objects/performances that commemorate women, both past, and present, struggling for rights.
