Beach Rhythm is a live exhibition and oceanic story unfolding over the course of three episodes, built of remixed spoken prose, sound, film and sculptures as props.
Imagine a beach. It is the edge of the shore, representing an intertidal zone - a threshold between ocean and land. A Beach Rhythm carves its own time and relative dimension in space.
Starting as a blank verse, Episode 5: Origins looks at life as it came out of the ocean. Here, island time and shepard tones rule. The birth of Aphrodite, the aquatic ape theory, the boneless body of the octopus.. Myths and beliefs interwave and interweave.
Each episode in the Beach Rhythm trilogy will trace and layer oceanic thematics; firstly origins, then the wake, and ending with a carnivalesque celebration of past lost.
