An evening concert from the Argentinian trio as part of our PureGold season

VMP consists of Julian Barbieri (MMus Composition Student) on keyboards, Santiago Viale on bass guitar and Simon Beaulieu on drums. The Band met at Cordoba´s Art College, studying both composition and musical education.

Throughout 2011, VMP released its first material: Danza de Paraguas, a four-track EP recorded at 1961 STUDIO, owned by engineer Pablo Granja. In 2012, the band realeased Viaje a un Minúsculo Planeta, their first self-titled record. This album also works as the soundtrack for Detrás del Oficio, an eight-part documentary on traditional craft jobs that had previously won a national contest. This LP was first performed in June 2013 and gained good reviews from both local and national critics. In November 2014, VMP released Cartografías, their second critically acclaimed album, recorded at Desdemona Studios, owned by the Bergallo brothers in the city of Córdoba, Argentina. In April 2016, the band premiered the VMP Sessions, a set of four videos with a cinematic approach, new arrangements, and special guests. Currently the band is recording their third LP.

Since its formation in 2010 VMP has been presenting its musical concept in different stages of the Latin American scene, playing at famous venues such as the San Martín Theatre in Buenos Aires, the Zitarrosa Concert Hall in Montevideo, Uruguay, and Studio Theatre in Córdoba. Since February 2018 the band has been living in London.
