Songwriters that tackle the subject of ‘national identity’ in their songs walk a tightrope between expressing personal feelings about home/belonging and delving into the highly charged territory of race, politics and history.

Embracing this challenge head-on, Indie songwriter Colonial Sun and Alt-Soul singer Tawiah took a workshop group of London-based songwriters and set them the task of writing a song about ‘national identity’ in a single day.

This forum for the public will feature discussion and live performances of these ‘works-in-progress’ as well as brand new material from Colonial Sun and Tawiah.

For aspiring songwriters and those interested in songcraft, this event is not to be missed!
