Talk by Christoph Andreas Neusiedl (City University Hong Kong)

Building on the post-development school of thought and its calls for 'alternatives to development', I establish the idea of 'pluriverse-edification' which weaves together elements of post-development, post-anarchism and political ontology into what I call 'the ontological politics of (in-)equality'. I will apply this framework to the field of education, arguing that in order to strengthen the idea of pluriverse-edification, we need to first and foremost re-think and radically change contemporary, mainstream approaches to education. I will then introduce the growing 'unschooling' movement and some key concepts of 'unschooling' as a possible way for thinking about 'education for the pluriverse.

The event is hosted by the Research Unit for Contemporary Political Theory in the Dept. of Politics and IR.
